Boats on Belfast Bay Oil by Mary Hughes

"20 x 10" Oil on Canvas

"Boats on Belfast Bay"

Boats bobbing in the breeze on the blue waters of Belfast Bay.

After living in Michigan for a few years I was used to seeing boats tied to docks when not in use. So when I first saw empty boats tied to buoys in the bay it was a surprise. A lane is left clear for tug boats and cruise ships to pass and dock.

In this painting there are misty clouds gathering just beyond Islesboro in the distance. Many boats sit empty gently bobbing in the waves. In the foreground the rocks peek above the shallower waters where gulls perch and swim.

This is painted on a stretched canvas.

You can view this close up at FineArtAmerica where you can purchase prints on canvas, paper or metal with a wide variety of finishes, matting, frames and sizes all the way up to 36" x 18". The original is available for sale also by contacting me directly.
