Oil Painting Blueberry Tart by Mary Hughes

8" x 8" Oil on Canvas
"Grocery Store Tart"
Golden crust filled with a mild custard and topped with kiwi, strawberries and blueberries.

$125.00

When I walked through the bakery department in our local grocery store one day this little tart called out to me, "Wouldn't you like to paint me?" and the answer was a definite "YES". Having previously lived in an area with a very modest grocery store something like this really stood out to me. It was so pretty. I was inspired and did my best to get it home unblemished.

I had the most fun painting the blueberries. The crust on the other hand fought me all the way.

I was so taken with the little tart I did two versions of it. The second version almost finished.

For anyone wondering....yes it was quite tasty!

E-mail me if you'd like to purchase. Thank you!

Isn't it amazing how pastries and produce will call your name? Some people just don't understand when you hear the call of a cupcake, tart, apple or watermelon. :-)

Your tart is amazing! You did a great job on the crust and it doesn't look at all like a struggle! The fruit looks yummy. Well done!
