Holiday Holiday

12" x 12" Portrait: Sold

Just wanted to lift my head up, take a breath and touch base with my blogger readers before the Thanksgiving Holiday week. Seeing many other artists blogs quiet I know they're busily working on commission pieces for the Christmas Holiday. It's a fun experience working with people who want to give art pieces to loved ones. Kind of like Santas elves.

This photo was taken a few weeks ago when the trees were in full color. The sky that day had very thin but textured clouds that diffused the sun in a very interesting way. It made photography a little challenging.

This is the scene I witnessed a week ago. Dark brooding navy sky behind brilliant sun lit autumn trees. It was spectacular and I decided then I wanted to paint it on a large canvas.

I'll leave it up to the observer whether this is the oncoming storm that brings an adrenalin rush, or the sweet relief of a receding storm that leaves the air so fresh.

Upon Reflection

The past three days have been unseasonable warm. A few days ago as the sun was setting on this warm and hazy day I looked out and saw a very still lake with this great reflection and I knew it was this weeks SkyWatch entry.
